The Hay Group report, The Five Pillars of Distributed Leadership, which forms part of the Distributed Leadership pack of materials, proposed five stages of distributed leadership:

Instruct, Consult, Delegate, Facilitate and Neglect.

The purpose of this exercise is to reflect on leadership in the school and to decide both where your school is now and where you would like it to be.
